The interpretation of this as a move towards doing the Phase 3 in-house is straight forward but I agree it can also be viewed the other way. Neuren is a pretty small company and there probably exists a very high level of camaraderie amongst the staff. Some are likely great friends. In the event of a takeover, those not amongst upper management with large stock holdings would basically just lose their job. So this may provide a mechanism for making such an event far less onerous. Now if I was involved in the takeover offer I would certainly be putting forward arguments to minimise the cost of this but it would be a point of debate and the basic point stands.
