Well, few others on this forum mentioned "Chris Scott" before you. I am the one who multiple times said that company is not giving enough in capital gain so our resulting total return isn't that excellent and for that Geoff should replace Portfolio manager & CEO.
However, we need to give credit when someone earn it. Last year WAM did good performance, the only part I disliked that they took 20% performance bonus even though their share price lags what it was 7 year ago.
I also agree that WAM had no capital gain if you look at price movement in last seven years (Since 2017). Now basically up until 2017 their fund moved in the direction of the index (I know WAM doesn't fallow ASX 200, but we are only talking about direction) and they should be taking performance bonus only after taking share price above 2017 level.
However, giving regular six monthly dividend is also important so they are giving that out and if you look at second chart below for last 1 year they did good (obviously for those who bought within certain price point).
So while it was bad time, my comments only to reflect that they doing good "recently" not since 2017.
Can they continue this performance ? I don't know...but I hope so !!!
Will I sell? .. I already said I will ... but when?..... I don't know as currently I can see they have enough of reserve so not in any rush.. unless my situation demand.
