yep automative noted as having much higher qualification requirements given the chips performance literally has someone's life as a consequence . . in contrast to a chip in a IoT device that manages something like a light or a fridge.
what i am sensing is that the qualification fo leti chips performed above and beyond expectations and it was noted they were extending the testing . . higher heats . . more iterations etc etc so get the feeling wbt mgmt realised that their ability to qualify for automotive was much closer than previously envisaged. in fact get the feeling the lads would be seriously crunching amd cooking the leti chips to automotive levels of qualification as i type. obviously that would need to be extended to production fab chips but the board seems very confident of achieving this.
wbt for the (huge) win imo.
