A few people are questioning the ability of Novonix to sell their PUREgraphite anode material for between $US8,000 and $US20,000 per tonne, but the company has stated this a number of times.

Q. Why is Novonix able to charge $US8,000-$US20,000 per tonne for its PUREgraphite anode compared to $US800 per tonne for natural graphite from a mine and $US3000-$US4,000 per tonne for purified natural graphite?

while the best you can purify natural graphite is ~95%.

Q. Why is the purity of graphite anode so important?

A: The higher the purity, the longer the life of the battery (Up from the current best 8 yrs) and capacity (Increases the Kilometre Range between charging)



These two factors are critically important for battery manufacturers for EVs and for the car companies themselves.

Hence why Samsung SDI will be sourcing Novonix's PUREgraphite anode material for their premium car brand customers stated above .
