I went to India recently (I'm half Indian) and comparing it to when I was a kid or even to about 3 years ago when I was there last, the amount of construction, development and acceptance of Western culture (commercialism, etc.) is incredible. It's evident in things as basic as how the younger generations dress and what is marketed now.

Delta is right; India, Mongolia, Brazil are setting themselves up to be among the fastest growing economies for the next 20 yrs, imo.

And this independence on self-sustainability only benefits NSL.
