I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see an overseas listing.
I listened in to this morning’s conference call about the merger. There was a reference made on a couple of occasions to Pogo being the ‘beachhead’ in North America. They clearly, and not surprisingly, have plans to grow in North America.
Raleigh Finlayson said during the conference call that Stuart Tonkin will succeed him as managing director, and that Finlayson will then become Executive Director, Corporate Development, which will enable him to drive both organic and inorganic growth.
As a shareholder of both NST and SAR, I think this merger is very positive all round. It brings together two great companies which have complementary skills, a common culture, and outstanding management teams. I think the future for the merged company looks extremely exciting.
