From memory I believe they have said previously that they will study the info from past mining to try to figure out why the ore suddenly cut out. If it was a fault, as assumed, it follows that if you know the direction and the distance the fault displaced you can restart your exploration from that.
As I say, I suppose they would have drawn some conclusions from the information they have found and have a plan.
As for soils - with the fault between the surface and the yet to be discovered ore body - soils might not help at all !!
Mind you, @extrapolate the best thing about TLM is that it has more cash than it's Market Cap.
