You dont have to be friends of the NSW Government.

The onus is on both parties to abide by the law and due process. If one breaks these obligations then they must be held to account. It may not be Robert's money but it is Roberts political future that is at stake which is more important than anything given the egos of the political class.

IMO the NSW Government would be absolutely scrambling here and know they must settle asap. So full costs to MEL and reinstatement of licence. This means little however as IMO I don't beleive MEL will drill another hole in the NSW Northern Rivers. Terrible shame. Hopefully for holders a major can take over the tenaments.

IMO Roberts did this as a pressure valve release that has worked a treat . Australia and NSW needed this confrontation with the radical anti fossil fuel Greens and local protestors but now that has been kicked further down the road to become someone elses problem.
