I would expect Denis to follow the same successful strategy he adopted with Coppabella where he brought in to the project as a partner Ken Talbot followed by a strategic partner (CITIC) going from exploration into production on an accelerated basis, continuing to grow the resource and where Ken eventually sold his approx. 25% stake for about $1bn.
IMHO, given we now have a robust project, a bullish secular market for copper and the significant prospectivity potential of this resource, I can see the potential for a major upgrade in reserves over time as the project progresses and a considerable increase in the value of the project from here following a similar strategy to Coppabella i.e. a $ multi-billion NPV.
And I suspect most of the Top20 are of a similar view.
Investors and traders will come and go over that period.
But every month that goes by and every drilling program completed confirms the exciting potential upside on this investment.
I know some major global funds that bailed on FMG at $2.50 as it looked toppy. Now $25 and a mkt cap of $75bn.
