Ummm where do you think then the PPA (or TPA) is coming from to produce LFP CAM?

As far as LFP use in EV (or BESS), that (to me) is the only reason to make an investment in AEV (which I'm yet to pull the trigger on because I haven't yet got "comfortable" with their fundamentals). I don't care DAP/MAP or DAPR. Even AEV DSO sales - only care about that as means to an end to get cash flow to "underwrite" Capex requirements for LFP CAM manufacturing

The above quote coming from the May '23 presentation from the company whose CEO is highlighted in @Pizzaboy01 post from Linked In. There are a couple of Canada based igneous rock phosphate "development hopefuls" that have terrific sources of information. The other thing is - be careful of CATL as they have their own IP on LFP (and other batteries) ... AEV has chosen to go Aleees (like FREYR)

    DYOR

The above done on Q1 2022 .... LFP has grown in marketshare since them. You need to do some calculations to understand exactly what this added demand does to the demand for PPA and what the supply response can be.

Now what does that mean in terms of a PPA supplier (from the other Canadian igneous rock company)

    and then

and in case it is not clear ...H3PO4 is Phosphoric Acid. Hydrogen is "waste" as we want only PO4.
This particular potential PPA supplier is calculating that it needs to process approximately 4,281T of rock to recover at approx 40% recovery to 1,841T of PA which provides at approx 75% the required P+O of 1,338T .... my rough math suggests more like 4,400T but you get the gist of it.

So a 5GWh LFP Battery Plant would need roughly 5 x 2,222T = 11,000T of LFP (of which ~5 x 1350 = 6,750t of PPA needed). This particular company needs to process ~22,000T of their rocks to get it.

A 5GWh plant "appears" to be the first target for AEV. This "Electrification" value chain is broad and the below slide from FREYR puts some perspective on it. AEV is proposing to have a leg in the Mining and Refining piece (with owning Phosphate and buying Lithium and Iron) and manufacturing CAM

I bring up FREYR (not because I happen to be a shareholder) but because FREYR is building the first LFP CAM plant, outside of mainland China, using Aleees technology which makes it a good point of reference for me. Their JV with Aleees relies similarly upon Aleees for people & manufacturing expertise of LFP CAM.

Also "The proposed facility should be the world’s first giga scale LFP cathode plant outside mainland China. The JV partners plan to develop an initial 10,000 tonnes of LFP cathode material per year in the Nordic region by 2024, which is estimated to be sufficient to supply FREYR’s first Gigafactory. The JV’s secondary ambition is to quickly expand to at least 30,000 tonnes by 2025 using Aleees’ modular LFP plant design." ... Sound familiar???

It may well be that - for Australia and AEV - that LFP CAM manufacturing for EVs is irrelevant and that the true demand (in Australia) for LFP might be BESS. Local LFP CAM for local LFP cell/pack manufacturing for local BESS solutions. And as a yardstick FREYR has already an OTA with Nidec for 38GwH of LFP battery supply for BESS over the 2025 - 2030 timeframe.

That's where my interest lies. We'll see how this one progresses.
