Hi Peejay2 - I still hold but it is a fraction of what I used to hold. I keep hoping that it will improve. It hasn't as yet but it may. I am not like other investors so my ideal Small cap is 60% (Average dividend around say 5%) of the portfolio in safe dividend yield stock with low growth so that you can get say 3% before franking. Then the next 40% in the stories so maybe 8 positions each 5% and they can be long term unfolding but looking for the long term value.
What I see in LIC's today is a churning situation - not enough yield to pay dividends so sell a few positions and realize Capital gains to bump up the dividend. It is all about dividend yield to avoid a discount to NTA. Not a great long term investment plan.
I haven't been able to persuade the manager here to do anything like that.
