I also have largely now steered away from the roller coaster ride with direct investments, and prefer the slow motion ups and downs of LICs (especially the large, low cost ones like AFI and ARG).
Like many I presume, I sometimes take advantage of the premiums/discounts to NTA to lighten/add to my exposure. Other than that, I’m happy to grow my investment by collecting more shares through the DRP, comfortable knowing the likes of AFI and ARG will be around long after I have fallen off the perch.
The only firm rule for me is not to pay a premium to NTA.
