    I suspect the BOD was given information to consider earlier and went along with the expert recommendations. Curiously it would seem that they got lucky with the very first patient implanted whose characteristics and disease profile was probably perfectly suited to the treatment. Random chance. Working out why that was is Barry Snow's "Rubik's Cube". Hopefully the current trial will help solve it
