Well flicking a switch at home can turn a light on. But when you hit the start button on a car - for example, there are a cascade of events that happen, all linked to the initial switch. A far simpler explanation is that there is one switch that is flicked IMO. Otherwise we are talking about another cascade starting switch that just happens to reverse a lot of processes started by another cascade starting switch.
Not saying that some other explanation will not come to light.
