Agree with all of this. The bit that has been holding them back is brick and mortar style buildings. They want quick online, do it yourself process. Thats not really the current "hearing aid" generation - that generation still want f2f service and trust. This is why they have traditionally tried to scope their market to "mild" hearing loss and a slightly younger demographic.
I actually think they are lost. The HP OEM put another distraction and while that still might come off - it was a pivot to gain traction with sales that currently hasnt worked.
You are right this is their last chance to position themselves correctly
