A lot of companies don`t give earnings guidance at the present. The list is huge but a couple that you would think would have the best idea - Apple, Google .... In fact, there is a strong argument for companies not to provide guidance at all. Most CEO`s are pressing for this b/c as you mention `they can`t tell us what the future will look like`.
