People are missing the bigger picture here.

These grants are to help fund 20 selected Projects (not companies).

Novonix's project is to build a facility that will "support up to 75,000 tpa" of synthetic graphite production.

This project will obviously cost $1.0272607Bn in total.

The DoE has selected Novonix's project "to enter negotiations to receive US$150 million". Terms are still being finalised.

Without the DoE's funding, Novonix would have had to fund the entirety of this project itself to achieve the proposed roadmap of ramping to 150,000 tpa by 2030. That's $150M that they've saved!!! Who does that benefit? SHAREHOLDERS.

Note: We're the 2nd largest project amongst the 20 - only behind 'Project Name: ENTEK US Lithium Separator'which has a total cost of ~$1.4B.

Novonix is clearly managing projects in the big leagues.
