In the Companies Neuroprotection data on its website it states less than one of ten stroke patients receive clinical clot busting interventions and or tPA ( tissue plasminogen activator) .
Up until I retired ( Feb 20) we used to give tPA to a greater percentage of patients in a large Category 5 Trauma Hospital.
USA figures from 913 Hospitals now give 75% of their stroke patients tPA within 60 minutes. Ref Cardiology News ( Most US tPA eligible stroke patients now get treated within an hour . Feb 8 2019.
Can anyone explain the anomaly.
The secondary brain intervention by NYR certainly looks promising as calcium ions post head injury is a proven detriment . I am very interested .
