The earnings misses and downgrades were to be expected imo. I don't think people tightened the purse strings so much, I think they consumed and shopped so much during Covid that they just got bored of spending money. As far as I can tell the sentiment for spending picked up a few weeks ago so next lot of corporate number should look stronger. The market just now digesting the lower spending from a couple months ago. So I think all this current bearishness may pass quicker than expected. Sorry, off topic.
