Partnering is just a development strategy, and completely agree, it can be a balls up for a number of reasons, wont elaborate here.
Array is in oncology so a tougher market IMO, expect lower upfronts and more milestone related payments in oncology than for the Cholesterol opportunities. I could be wrong, need to go have a look at partnering deals in that space to confirm...
