I am pretty sure Merck's drug was added on, you can just Google search just to be sure!! I am sure there will be plenty of articles around the same.... and yes it does makes a difference if they are on statins or not!!
we also had mono therapy results which is sole Nyrada PCSK9... delivered about twice improvement vs statin... I am sure Merck one will also deliver improvement ...
65% was total improvement similar to Merck...
Animals models are important to understand how drugs interacts and work.... but in no way it's an indication of success.....there is a long road to go for any company including Merck....
What is key for us is now to start our P1 trial which unfortunately a bit delayed but hopefully starts soon...
For any oral PCSK9 to be successful, it all depends on the pricing eventually....Injectable PCSK9 are having a hard time getting funding coz they are very expensive vs statins so cost benefit ratio isn't there ....
the way I see it is that the companies with PCSK9 injection will spend time preparing the market and oral PCSK9 willl be ready to capture it...
