Yes, OB1 has money issues but the surveys will not cost as much as many think. Neither the holes will cost much. Bot the surveys and the holes target shallow zones and as a result can be completed fast and at low cost.

What OB1 needs is to make sure they drill about 3 holes at each of those high grade rock-chips. The latest rock-chip results from OB1 were infill testing and only confirmed what KCC found there while ago. OB1 will need between 70m and 150m long RC holes to test those outcrops. Few 200m holes may be needed to test Shuteen N but even those are not expensive.

Plus OB1 will have to spend $4m USD over 5 years to be able to hold to the ground and if they can't then KCC gets it back and this time around they will find someone with deep pockets as Cu prices are booming. Almost 1 year now so OB1 will have to make a decision if they want to keep the ground.

I think they will test some prospects before making a decision. I think they will only drill about 10 RC holes and hope to hit something that can attract interest that will allow them to do another CR at much higher SP. If those ~10 holes don't deliver such results I think OB1 will hand the ground back to KCC.

KCC is probably getting close to lock another JV/Earn-in deal as they have been negotiating for while now. These prospects are more advanced so KCC is demanding better terms - my guess.
