That's not accurate i believe (as a former KDR holder). KDR had a MRE of 189Mt @1.5% Li2O (at Mt Holland's Earl Grey); for quick comparison Liontown (LTR) has a MRE of 172Mt @1.33% Li2O, and was valued at A$6.46 billion (about to be acquired) by US Albemarle (though was later interrupted by Gina Rinehart) just a few weeks ago. Westfarmer only paid some $776m for taking over Kidman in 2019 (so WES did a very good deal even for 50% in hindsight). Imagine if Kidman were to be bought last year or even this year..
I reckon OBM's management did a good job this time for finally getting something from its lithium assets alone unlike what it did before (about two years ago) that it almost gave away its potential lithium asset - Mt Ida for free (was sold as a gold asset i believe for $11m) to then Red Dirt Metals and the latter quickly announced its maiden lithium discovery at Mt Ida a month or two later and the rest is history..
