I’m not up to date on this issue, keeping up to date on the principalia and Filipino politics is a time intensive task and quite tedious unless that is your domain of expertise. The last person to truly call the shots was Marcos, I cannot say what is really happening with Duterte, it will be interesting to talk to my friends in Manila if this issue is still alive when I get there. I can quite understand that. Didipio’s problem strikes me as a problem I have seen too many times before. Perhaps they screwed up, perhaps they didn’t. It really doesn’t matter in the Philippines. How do they solve it? It’s not just a question of money, although it never is one that excludes it. Perhaps someone wants the mine and this is one way to wreck the business so they can acquire it. I truly don’t know.
