Notwithstanding some light at the end of the Didipio tunnel the Life of mine extension at Macraes has been a long time coming. A time lag but the change of CEO is possibly having an effect. Macraes has a new General Manager who seems to want to get things moving after his predecessor was asleep at the wheel and eventually got the boot last year. However there is some tired old infrastructure at Macraes that will need some serious capital investment that was not forthcoming under the previous GM & CEO when the life of mine plan was so short.
