AIR 12/11/2012 16:44 OFFICE REL: 1644 HRS Air New Zealand Limited (NS) OFFICE: AIR: Appointment of Chief Operations Officer Air New Zealand today announced the appointment of Bruce Parton to the role of Chief Operations Officer, effective 1 January 2013. Bruce currently serves as Group General Manager Australasia. Chief Executive Officer Designate Christopher Luxon commented: "Bruce has held varied and significant positions in Air New Zealand over the past 16 years and having worked closely with him since my arrival last year I know his passion for our airline will be a significant asset going forward. "Bruce has an in depth working knowledge of the airline industry, with experience ranging from procurement and engineering, to airport and aircraft operations, to sales and commercial performance. "As GGM Australasia, Bruce is currently accountable for significant airline operations including all our regional airlines, and many of our airports, cabin crew and pilots. Prior to being GGM Australasia, he held positions such as GM Materials & Components - Engineering, GM Pacific Airline and GM Domestic Airline. "With his mix of technical, logistics and commercial background, Bruce was the ideal candidate to fill the new Chief Operations Officer role and being an internal appointment further supports a strong Executive leadership team ready to hit the ground running in 2013."
