Appointment of General Counsel

Contact Energy Limited (Contact) is pleased to announce that Catherine
Thompson, Head of Regulatory Affairs and Government Relations has been
appointed to the role of General Counsel while Deputy Company Secretary,
Shehnaz Hajati has assumed the role of Company Secretary.

Catherine has been with Contact since 2010 and has a strong legal and
regulatory background and extensive understanding and experience of the
energy sector.

The appointments are effective from 6 November 2014.
