OFFICE: FCG: Fonterra appoints Group Director Governance & Legal

Fonterra Co-operative Group Limited has appointed Mike Cronin to the newly
created leadership role of Group Director Governance & Legal which includes
the role of General Counsel.  This role will report to the Chief Executive
Officer, Theo Spierings.

Mr. Cronin will be responsible for delivering and leading an integrated
governance and legal framework. He will also provide support to the Board,
Chief Executive Officer, and the Fonterra Management Team.

Mr. Cronin joined Fonterra in 2002 from Russell McVeagh, and has been a
member of the Fonterra Legal Team and most recently was General Manager of
Strategy Deployment.
