LIC leadership team complete
LIC has appointed the final member of its new senior leadership team.
Geoff Corbett, currently diagnostics manager for LIC, will move into the new
position of General Manager Biological Systems, which is responsible for the
co-op's core biological products and services including genetics, herd
testing, animal health and diagnostics.
In an announcement to staff today, chief executive Wayne McNee said Geoff was
up against a strong field of internal and external candidates for the role.
"Geoff has made a significant contribution to LIC in his role of Diagnostics
Manager, and I am delighted to see one of our Level 2 Managers stepping up to
the senior leadership team."
Geoff first joined LIC in 2001, as laboratory manager, and was appointed
diagnostics manager in 2008, to oversee LIC's GeneMark service which provides
DNA parentage and animal health testing to farmers.
The new senior leadership team is made up of internal and external
appointments:
o General Manager Information and Automation: Rob Ford (previously LIC GM
Farm Systems)
o Chief Financial Officer: Linda Cooper (previously LIC GM Corporate)
o Chief Scientist: Richard Spelman (previously LIC GM Research & Development)
o General Manager Operations & Service: Andrew Fear (previously LIC GM
Operations and Customer Service)
o General Manager Emerging Markets and Innovation: Simon O'Connor (starting
late-August, currently Fonterra GM Mergers and Acquisitions)
o General Manager NZ Markets: David Willis (former Managing Director of Arrow
Pharmaceuticals in New Zealand, and country manager of Novartis/Sandoz in the
Philippines)
o General Manager Biological Systems: Geoff Corbett (previously LIC
Diagnostics Manager)
The new senior leadership team is part of a new structure for the farmer
owned-cooperative which came into effect on 1 June, following a comprehensive
review of the organisation. In total, 58 positions were impacted and 78 new
roles created.
