OFFICE: TME: New strategy manager for Trade Me
Mike DelPrete is joining Trade Me as its new strategy manager.
Mike comes to Trade Me from New York, where he has most recently been CEO of
Agora Games, a technology business that builds software for online gaming
communities. He has also been acting as an advisor to start-up companies. He
is an experienced entrepreneur, including founding Agora Games in 2005, which
he then sold to New York City-based Major League Gaming Inc in 2009.
Trade Me CEO Jon Macdonald said Mr DelPrete would join the executive team.
"He'll have responsibility for developing a pipeline of new interesting
ventures for us to consider, as well as coordinating Trade Me's overall
corporate strategy. We're sure Mike's experience in building a community and
strong tech credentials will be a great fit for Trade Me."
Mr DelPrete said he was excited about his move to New Zealand. "I really love
being an entrepreneur, helping build awesome products, and assisting
companies as they grow. I'm looking forward to getting involved at Trade Me."
He starts at Trade Me immediately.
