Presumably with the reduced risk of a strong onshore offtake partner getting commercial debt finance will be much easier?
I am much more comfortable with this offtake, even if it requires a little more equity in the funding mix, than the risks and costs of going for a Chinese smelter (directly or via a HK trader). Concentrate transport cost is substantial and now there’s the oil price sea freight cost volatility and heightened geopolitical risk wrt China.
Presumably they have done some work with debt providers, but I have always expected a CR along with the CR. Hopefully mostly debt though.
