Optimism in Salta regarding the RIGI regulation: "Investments will come"

The investment prospects with the RIGI in the province are around 9 billion dollars in different mining projects, according to estimates from the Salta government. At the local level, it is expected that the Senate will end up sanctioning the bill for joining the regime, which has already received partial approval from the House of Representatives, so that it can be operational in the province.

"The RIGI brings stability and certainty. It is a kind of vindication of all the macroeconomic problems we have had in recent years. So I think it will be very successful. It will not happen overnight, we have to be patient, these investments are slow processes, but they will come," said the representative of the mining companies based in Salta.

The mining companies with projects in the Puna region of Salta that have already expressed interest in the RIGI are the South Korean Posco, the Chinese Gangfeng Lithium, the Canadian First Quantum Minerals, the French Eramet, the multinational (with English and Australian capital) Rio Tinto and Alpha Lithium/Tecpetrol, with Canadian and Argentine capital.
