There are billions of dollars at stake;
The default position, imo, is to assume corruption and manipulation, until proven otherwise.

Some may have more “specific” views on how they “apply” this to various nations etc.

…Perhaps I misunderstood what you said/meant, but if you are indeed brushing aside any notion of market manipulation, then that is a very naive viewpoint imo, considering we have history to teach us all about human nature and behaviour, especially with so much at stake.
