IMHO the only thing that decides whether a buyback is a good idea or not is the price its conducted at. Big company, small company, buying a dollar is a bad idea if you pay two dollars and a good idea if you pay fifty cents. At the current SP i think they're paying closer to 50 cents.
EDIT: This post was supposed to be replying to somebody further up who was complaining about the buyback. HC reply bug at it again
