Winston's relationship with Talleys may be solid (I have no idea) but any reference to it may also be a red herring. Winston killed Labour's Capital Gains Tax and they're not inclined to thank him. NZ First are also the proponents of the Plant a Billion Trees initiative aimed at creating jobs in the regions AND addressing climate change. And lastly there's a clue in the name of Winston's party as to where his loyalties lie and it's not with majority offshore owners. Its an enormous leap to suggest Winston is going to be the saviour of BRL shareholders in any form.
Winston will get ten times the votes (and that's what he cares about) by completing the work to uncover events at Pike River - and that will come without ANY adverse criticism in the press.

and let's give the guy a break - even if he is close to Talleys, he doesn't have to agree and support their initiatives.
