I wonder if there's been some misreporting? last may/June when the company presented its PANCO data at ASCO, according to the poster on the OSL website the survival estimate at that time was based on 21 "events" (deaths)- so half of the 42 implanted. Seems very unlikely that nearly a year later we'd be at half still alive, just based on natural history of this cancer?
The other part of that BIOWORLD article that piqued my interest were the quotes about implant supposed to stay in-situ and FDA concern about seeding. The table I have placed below is from one of the panco conference presentations that is publicly available on the OSL website, gives idea of what happens after the oncosil is implanted, based on 'SPECT' scan that accurately detects radioactivity in the body. Seems in Panco in 1 in 7 patients implanted the implant wasn't in expected site ( tumour) and in 45% there is radiation in intestine 4 hrs after implant? I'm guessing the regulators weren't too concerned.
