This is how bad the energy crisis is at the moment that the US and other countries are releasing their "war" oil reserves.
I believe this measure won't last long as demand is a lot higher now that the northern hemisphere (90% of world population) are experiencing winter.

BAS is already producing and will produce more oil so their income will be positively affected by this prolonged price hike at least until winter is over.
When winter (and the olympic) is over, China will ramp up production again and they will still use a lot of oil/ fuel to road transfer their coals and iron ores.
Contrary to popular belief, China has a really bad freight train infrastructure which their high speed rails can't accomodate. They have to rely on road transport which consumes more expensive fuel to transport cheaper coals (yes their rail freight costs is higher than using trucks).

To be honest all this green energy movement will fail in developing countries where majority of productions are at the moment. We are talking about China, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Brazil. They will continue to rely on coals, oils and gas which will continue to increase demand and keep oil price high.

Hopefully more people would discover BAS and the potential it has as an oil producing company.
