Bugger! Tailings from the ENC HPAL plant, which NIC will own more than 50% of, will be used to backfill the mine. They'll be delivered via the same slurry pipe that delivers the ore to the HPAL plant.
NIC has a history of responsible post-mining restoration including re-afforestation, so let's hope they have the ENC tailing situation under control.
