How resistant would shareholders that have seen the value of most of their holdings being decimated in the last year be to a hostile takeover?

I think there would be many that would be relieved to see a reasonable offer.

When comparing a reasonable offer from a year ago, to a reasonable offer in today’s market, it would be much less, (yet the fundamentals have improved).

It is those fundamentals that a predator would be focussing on, not the inflated value that existed a year ago.

A battered share holder would be looking at it differently and be thinking of a takeover as a way to save the farm.

I think there would be many retail holders that would be in that situation.

Whats more, this situation may have been engineered.
