This formula usually ends up with an error in the first variable that leads to an overestimation of the final variable.
Often gold can get stuck in the liners of mills, sumps, pumps, chutes etc. Usually it's not worth worrying about, very few mines is it significant these days, even ones with three times the grade of Old Pirate. Usually it's geologists who bring up the phenomenon as if they are suddenly experts in gold milling.
