This why I know FGR hasn't got a clue about science. They need a science generalist not a graphene expert.
When a customer turns up she/he wants you to understand his business. She/he doesn't come to undestand yours. Your job after "getting their business" is to use your knowledge even if it is not Nobel Proze quality knowledge about graphene, it is much better than the ciustomer, but at least you look like you have cutomer focus.
With no disrespect, putting Dr Lin in front of someone doing plastic cabling or cement is ridiculous. If the customer fronts with a world leading cuttng edge scientist in graphene water treatment - regardless of the graphene expert you have he will always be lesser than the customer. Summary: understand the customers needs and how you can tailor and supply graphene to him, FGR expert isn't there to invent new products.
I will also add, every single Board member trumpets their mining credentials. Everything is limited by the field of veiw of that occupation.

Regarding flame retarding, I do have some experience with thermal insulators and ablation in environments typically 2,500 C.
I do not think they would be the obvious target market, but they would pay big bucks.
Fire retardants fall into the category of "I wish I didn't need to spend money on this". Its like insurance, so its always cost sensitive. Most commercial situations aren't very volume or weight sensitive - maybe Boeing/Airbus might have some interest in weight reduction to give an idea.
I agree its a market and a big market, and how big the piece is that is prepared to want max performance/unit weight?
For FGR graphene to get top dollar, the application needs to be a high dollar situation like an aircraft, where every kg saved in design is a benefit for 30 years. Lugging an extra kg around for 200,000 hours costs fuel just my simple calcs suggest $100,000/kg.
(200,000 hr x 1,000 km/hr x $0.10/km) / 75 kg -person x 40 percent (fuel cost/fare)= $106k/kg
Putting in wash'n wear clothing or fire blankets, or fireman's suits - maybe the lower grade material and lower cost, much lower.
For me, the Fire Retardantbusiness is a much longer time frame, much much longer. Insurance is involved and testing .. I won't live that long. I am not sure what the technology is exactly in the IP, maybe its easier than I think, but anything safety related has an expensive and long row to hoe.
So its not no, just not now until a few other things get up to much higher standard.
