Graphene has the ability to make more graphene (from the edges) if graphene sheets have access to carbon. So incorporated in as opposed to on material, might work in a fire situation. The graphene growth occurs in high temperature situations called annealing.
Thermal resistance across the sheet is high, so I could imagine sheet growth stiffening everything, no drips, and protecting the underlying from pyrolysis. Surrounding composite is an anaerobic environment so carbon won't burn and film evaporation cooling from decomposition products will help too. A good solid structural char made from graphene and some other mineral oxides would probably work fine.
I can imagine graphene could have uses, but as in earlier, you need big applications with big players. Still noy saying no, just not now when plenty else to do.
