We know that the two John's must have had a plan ( not revealed) and that JEF secured his majority SH shelling $1m with the knowledge all BLU gas assets were stranded. We will never know their timeframe for success so can only guess it is the long game. The other important fact to acknowledge, which addresses your questioning why no drilling all these years gone, has there ever been a better time for this to occur? Shortage of gas, elevated price per gj all factors non existent in years past.
