As an NST investor who is accumulating this stock on a regular basis, I would prefer management reinvest the profits into a massive exploration program to find the next big discovery OR buy out some mid cap goldies with decent deposits. We need more ounces moving into the future and now is the time to do it IMO. Of course, I would always welcome an improvement in the dividend but to advance the dividend too much takes money away from other areas like this. If you thought the big gold producers were undervalued, look at the low to mid cap goldies, most of them are still at their lows and have not moved at all! I hold a few, AUC, HRZ, EMC with some decent deposits and substantial ounces ready to head in production but they are all at their lows. Their market caps really don't take into account their proven in ground gold value at all. Whereas any other previously hot sector such as Li or Ni in the past 3-5 years which even had a sniff of any sort of mineralisation in a rock chip sample in early stages went on massive runs!
I suspect some of that is to do with the high inflation environment and the capital and funds needed to get into production, with the market hesitant to take the gamble in this cost of living crisis. However, stocks like NST could come in and swoop at the finish line for an absolute bargain and steal a 3moz plus ready to go gold deposit and they have the capital behind them to make it to production. Some huge bargains to be had across the ASX right now IMO. Time for NST to pounce IMO.
