I think the TV news coverage of financials is just a tick-box affair. The ABC often put up price movements of 6 commodities, sometimes with dollars, sometimes percentages and sometimes both, and leave it on screen for about 2½ seconds. You have no hope of reading and comprehending it in the time allowed.
