Question to Buru
Can you unambiguously state that analysis of the 3D seismic has not to date provided any report-worthy insights into Rafael resource volumes, other than reconfirmation of the already confidently-known 1C volumes?
Answer from Buru
As per Buru’s ASX Announcement dated 24 April 2024, the analysis of the Rafael 2C and 3C Contingent Resource volumes are subject to ongoing analysis by Buru and third-party specialists.Carbonate reservoirs are generally more challenging to characterise and model than sandstone reservoirs due to their high variability in composition, pore network complexity and geological history. For this reason, and based on feedback from potential farminees, further work on the Rafael accumulation is required to characterise the mid and upside volumetric cases which are required before potential third parties invest significant funds to further appraise and develop the resource.
