I been doing it off and on since you could CPU mine for Bitcoins, it was originally a hobby out of interest, now just another crooked and unregulated casino like the ASX, but it is worse and the crack cocaine of "investing" as 24/7 and no regulations on announcements and rumor mongering.
Plus, there is at least one of the bigger mining pools engaging in "selfish mining" which tries to game the block finding process, it all keeps you on your toes, need a diversion from not much to do at work for 12 hours a day...
