Correct Cruiser, it is not rocket science however i genuinely believe we do not have a competent team of well testers available in WA.
Please bear in mind that since 2014 there has been a chronic lack of investment in recruitment and training within the oil industry.
This industry is not as lucrative as it once was. Almost every rig in Australia is now manned by temporary agency workers. These guys are on rolling 12 hour contracts. Think about that.
These specialist service companies are operating with skeleton crews - and they are being burnt out. Add into the mix quarantine periods where they may recieve 1/2 pay. Its no wonder there is an experienced manpower issue in WA.
Its now 2022 and the oil price is moving north. Oil companies are now starting to reap some rewards again but we have a legacy of lack of training and investment in people. Its a massive catch 22.
We, as responsible shareholders need to be realistic about how quickly things will happen.
As you mentioned, its a new well, its a wild cat exploration well. The data from this well could be transformational for Buru, and its shareholders. The last thing we need is a major stuff up due to human error.
On a different point, I'm personally quite intrigued about the possibility of using some of the Rafael gas to gas lift at Ungani. Has anyone spoken about this? Would this work? its only 50km away. Surely this could boost oil production at Ungani. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
