My take on it-

is the next horizontal will be off the current pad (makes sense for cost reasons). In one of the video presentations he stated that this current well could be later used as a horizontal well.

Then there will be a number of other horizontal wells required to sure up the complete play. So the 2nd horizontal will be off a completely new pad (obviously because this will be the 2nd horizontal) but rather than going off the road where the costs would be greater. It will be another pad along the road but in a completely different location to the current location. My guess would be at the other end of our acreage.
