Yes very normal for groundwater to be in the reservoir. Any groundwater in the reservoir needs to bleed off first from formation pressure before the liquids rich gas can desorp from the shale nanopore spaces. Once any water is out, the pore overpressure will eject the oil molecules that are attached to the shale particles and it will start to flow. Takes time, and sometimes needs artificial lift to get it started as DW has announced, but at the moment formation pressure is doing the job.
